-----Original Message----- From: John Smith COUNT US! Director Sent: Friday, December 30, 2005 10:21 AM To: Wu, David Cc: Thomas Tokarski; Jan & William Boyd; Subject: Information Request
Dear David Wu,
I have been directed by the Governors switchboard to make this request to you as the transportation expert in the Governor's office. This is a
an official open records act request for document or documentation of a Governor Daniels sighted study or report.
In the Governor's televised town hall meeting, "Ask the Governor" on Wednesday December 28th, Governor Daniels answered a question from William Boyd with the response, "Do your homework."
The question was regarding the claimed 100,000 jobs that Governor Daniels claims will result from "Major Moves". Governor Daniels went on to reference the source of this information as the US Federal Highway
Administration.
As ones who pride ourselves as "doing our homework" on this issue, we are trying to do just that. We have made contact with FHWA and the FHWA official stated, he heard the governor's reference to this claimed FHWA document, but he was not aware of the document.
We here request clear reference and/or if it is in the possession of the
Governors office or any other branch of the State of Indiana in any form, paper, or electronic or any other, we request copy for which we will reimburse the state the usual fee for a copied document sent.
I called and left message with your office on your voice mail yesterday,
December 29, 2005 requesting this documentation. Perhaps my request was
not understood as an official request for information. If I have somehow missed your response, I request that you send new/ timely acknowledgment of this request to this document.
Thank you,
John Smith Director COUNT US! RR3 Box 486 Solsberry, IN 47459
