...Mitch Daniels..

COUNT US! member Linda Green wrote this personal letter to the editor published in the Bloomington Herald Times:

Mitch Daniels has got to be kidding when he promotes himself as  a candidate for governor of Indiana. In 2001 Daniels became the director of management and budget of the United States, courtesy of George W. Bush. In a Washington Post article that Sen. Ernest Hollings titled "Delusional on the Deficit," he wrote, "When Daniels left two weeks ago to run for governor of Indiana, he told the Post that the government is 'fiscally in fine shape.' Good grief! During his 29-month tenure, he turned a so-called $5.6 trillion, 10-year budget surplus into a $4 trillion deficit-a mere $10 trillion downswing in just two years. If this is good fiscal policy, thank heavens Daniels is gone."
Yes, Daniels is gone from Washington politics, but he's trying to get himself voted head of our state.  Given the financial facts of Daniels' tenure in the nation's capital, how can anyone keep from laughing at his ambitions for himself in Indiana? Hoosiers are smart enough to do the math needed to see  Daniels' true financial "accomplishment" in Washington.
