CANDIDATES OPPOSED TO A NEW TERRAIN I-69

Paid for by COUNT US! Political Action Committee,
and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.

Secretary of State

Rebecca Sink-Burris
Libertarian
Please do NOT vote for John Fernandez for Secretary of State.  As mayor of Bloomington, Fernandez has defied his constituents and provided influential support for the new-terrain I-69.  In return, powerful new-terrain supporters have contributed generously to Fernandez's campaign.

We need to send a message to the O'Bannon-Kernan administration that candidates supporting the new-terrain I-69 will pay a price at the polls.  Help us send that message by voting against Fernandez.

To most effectively help defeat Fernandez, vote for Republican Todd Rokita.  If you prefer to vote for someone who supports I-70 / US 41, vote for Libertarian Rebecca Sink-Burris.  Democrats who can't bring themselves to vote for a Republican or Libertarian can signal their discontent over I-69 by voting in the other statewide races but simply not voting in the Secretary of State Race.

* In recent City of Bloomington and Monroe County elections, candidates opposed to a new-terrain I-69 have won big!  The Bloomington City Council has passed a strong resolution against a new-terrain I-69.  Still, in these races no candidate wishes to represent views that are getting candidates elected.  U.S. Representative John Hostettler and candidate Bryan Hartke, who are running in a district that includes Terre Haute, are satisfied to strip US 41 businesses of important customers between Evansville and Indianapolis in order to "help" Bloomington, a city that isn't even in the district they're running in.  Odd indeed in a representative democracy!  Did someone say payola, or was that Enron-ola?  Don't cast a vote in these races!  These candidates are not worthy of your vote.  Maybe next time one of the parties will get a clue.

Remember vote like your home and neighborhood depends on it.  It does!

If you have other candidates, races or counties that you would like us to add, or doubt the position of the candidate, please write to us your comments or additions.  We will try to update our information up to election day.

This Guide may be printed off the web, and distributed outside polling places on Election Day.
Persons distributing it must stay more than 50 feet away from the entrance to the polls,
