Only Michigan and Wisconsin lost more jobs in January than Indiana, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Indiana surrendered 12,500 positions, a 0.4 percent decline from December, leaving the state with a seasonally adjusted 2,968,100 jobs.

Compared to a year earlier, the state is down 4,400 jobs. Indiana and other industrial states are struggling to recover jobs lost early in the decade to recession.

Facts should trump cheerleaders

If one only listened to the spin out of Daniels campaign camp and the economic development community, you would think that Mitch Daniels as Governor with his Indiana Liquidation Sale Privatizations and "pop up" toll road proposals was the second coming.

A little reality check from time to time with hard statistics should be preferred, rather than Econ-Cheerleaders with bulldozer development/progress ideas waving their pom poms in our newpapers like facts.

Try to square the numbers above with Daniels' campaign literature provided below, you quickly realize they count only Job's created without mention of Job's lost.  It is like a business that looks only at income with no mention of costs in excess of of income.  Sounds good, but it is not a working business model.

Perhaps given his past record, we should never of hoped for better.  http://www.i69tour.org/trust.html
