Posted July 2004. Dear Campaigns for office, COUNT US! PAC opposes New Terrain I-69. We want to inform our supporters of any candidates for public office who share our opposition to this senseless project. As a PAC, we can and do support candidates, freely publishing and speaking in support and in opposition to candidates for their stances regarding I-69. We understand the importance of financial support to candidates campaigns and work to bring financial support to those who share our view of the future. Because of the importance of the Governor to this issue, we have been following the Governor's race closely, but we are also developing a voter guide for other Indiana races, as we did in the the 2000 and 2002 elections. Please keep us informed when you might develop any press or outreach regarding opposition to New Terrain I-69. We do prefer to base our endorsements on the philosophy "deeds speak louder than words". Make your position widely known and easy to find. We believe that COUNT US! is one of the best sources of information regarding the on going study of I-69 and the shenanigans of the proponents of this boondoggle. We would suggest that the website (www.i69tour.org). It will provide you many facts that you will find useful if you would like to speak out in opposition to this waste of billions of dollars in gas taxes (federal and state), one-hundred percent of which are collected in Indiana. Please contact us if you have any "difficult questions" regarding I-69. We believe that the project is built mostly on false and misleading representations not backed by study. We can refute most claims supporting I-69/3C to our liking with official I-69 environmental impact study data because the facts of the three-thousand page study do not support the conclusions necessary to build New Terrain I-69.
