COUNT US! Political Action Committee, has Released its Voter Guide for the Fall 2004 Indiana Elections.

Regarding on line I-69 Voters Guides:
Indiana 2004 Governor: http://www.i69tour.org/govguide.html
Indiana 2004 Voters Guide of Candidates:  http://www.i69tour.org/voteguide.html

The "COUNT US!"  name came from a comment by the INDOT commissioner, Brian Nicol, who stated in July of 2002 that he was "not counting the number of Hoosiers for or against the I-69 project".  Today the Political Action Committee, COUNT US! PAC, announced their pick of Indiana candidates for Hoosier voters opposed to a New Terrain I-69, saying "COUNT US!".

Kenn Gividen, the Libertarian was given "THUMBS UP!" by the group for Governor:

> "The Kenn Gividen for Governor Campaign has spread the word state wide about the Boondoggle I-69 like wildfire.  We will be indebted to Kenn Gividen for his dedication to "No New Terrain I-69" long after this year's election.  We can think of no better way to express our gratitude than to encourage as many votes as possible be cast for Kenn Gividen for Indiana Governor.  He may not win, but they can COUNT US!"

John Smith the groups chairman said:

> "This marks our third election publishing our Voters Guide.  We have candidates for State and Local offices across the state listed and are open to adding more up until the polls close.  We have focused our attention mostly on the Governors race this election following issues pertaining to I-69 since the earliest of the primary announcements.  The next governor will be the one to who can grab this NAFTA boondoggle by the horns and put the 3.28 billion dollar beast to rest.

The group rates candidates in three categories;
"THUMBS UP!",
"THUMBS DOWN!"
and an in between,  "THUMBS UP! & THUMBS DOWN!" , "for candidates whose positions might be foggy."

The group has listed Republican Candidate Mitch Daniels in this "THUMBS UP/ THUMBS DOWN" category.

  Regarding Daniels they say:

> We have never been granted a personal sit down meeting, but have had numerous public meetings with Mitch Daniels and have found him willing to talk to us rather than avoiding even a handshake, as has always been our experience with Joe Kernan.   Conversations have exchanged meaningful information both ways.  He has studied the EIS for I-69 and while even he admits to knowing "little" it is clear he has personally read probably ten times the details in the Environmental Impact Study, than has Joe Kernan who only knows the simplest of, "INDOT/Nicol's speak".
> With Daniels, a look at the history of his campaign (below) and his most recent statements, we see some hope for a "Common Sense I-69" compromise:

Governor Joe Kernan has maintained a solid THUMBS DOWN! rating with the group since choosing to run for election as Governor.

The group prints and distributes its on line voters guides on Election Day.  They encourage any like-minded Hoosiers to do the same.
