COUNT US! County Under New Terrain I=69

First, follow these links:

Any look at I-69 in Indiana or the nation points back to Evansville Indiana.

Evansville's cultivated community inferiority complex and feeling of being owed something.

Justification for the building of I-69 always comes down to "Evansville is the red haired step child of Indianapolis".  COUNT US! is not making this up, the "red haired" is not always expressed, but the forgotten "step child" theme has been repeated often enough to have become widely accepted.  Pushed to the limit, Evansville supporters of I-69 will always fall back on this justification for building I-69, no matter the cost or obstacle.

October 17 2005, the Evansville Courier Journal did an online poll of their readers.

How would you rate the wages in this region?

Here is the result of their "unscientific" poll:

Fully 86.8% of those who responded think Evansville, Indiana rates poor or fair.

Only 13.2% of those who responded think Evansville wages are good or above.

This can be demonstrated as an error in perception.

COUNT US! has long posted Indiana Department of Workforce Development "Regional Planning Zone" data that shows Evansville is near the top in Indiana for income per capita.

The calculation above shows that among Indiana's highest income regions, Evansville has the second highest spending power based on income compared to the cost of living.  This  is if you are a home owner.

If you are a renter the table below demonstrates you are relatively the richest of Hoosiers:
